Intothedark is a new Edinburgh-based Theatre Company founded by Melissa Malcolm in early 2025.
The company focuses on encouraging audiences and creatives to take a step into the dark in the hopes of finding unexpected beauty.

Hi,
My name is Melissa Malcolm (she/her) and I am an early career creative based in Edinburgh. I have a PGCert in Theatre Directing achieved in 2024.
My cast, Eilidh Brown and Shani Lila, and I are hoping to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe for the first time in 2025. The performance will be a version of Euripides’ Iphigeneia in Tauris - a Greek Classic.
As creatives in Scotland we all know how difficult it can be to financially set ourselves up and produce the work we are proud to share. I ask with a heavy heart if anyone is willing to donate any money towards our Fringe production. It would help with all things costume, set, props, lighting and venue and would help this small, new, but passionate theatre company begin its journey.
