What have I been up to!
This past week has been an absolute ball! I felt it was only right that I give a shoutout to some of the people and events responsible for this!
Reading my Poetry
I read my poetry, specifically ‘Big’ and ‘Choices’ from my first zine - Big and Small - at my first ever Scratch Night performance. The Scratch Night was hosted by FastSnailProductions, an Edinburgh based production company creating new theatre and film! You can find them on Instagram at _fastsnailproductions.
This was a lovely opportunity to share my poetry to other Edinburgh-based emerging creatives and I am grateful for the chance. It all went very well and the variety of acts was a reminder of how much creative potential Edinburgh holds!
Two days later I had the lovely opportunity to read ‘Big’ at a new event - Making Space Dalry.
This event is held monthly at ‘The Space in Dalry, Creative Opportunities Hub, Dalry 183’ and is just £10 on the door. It is an opportunity for emerging artists in Edinburgh working across different creative forms to share their work and celebrate new talent on the scene!
It was a great way to get supportive and valuable feedback and build confidence sharing work. I performed alongside fellow performers, Xander Cowan - Actor, Robbie Wilson - Musician, and Chris McCall - filmmaker, animator and producer.
Some other exciting news is that Intothedark’s upcoming Fringe 2025 performance has been cast and will be going live in early May! Watch this space!
I will also be performing in Edinburgh Acting School’s ‘The Winters Tale: Pursued by a Bear’ in early June 2025! Find out more in my post on the Theatre section of this website!
Lastly, I am currently reading a collection of Tove Ditlevsen poems - ‘There is a Young Girl in Me Who Will Not Die’ and I cannot recommend it enough, every piece of writing is beautiful.
I will be re-editing and posting an updated version of Big and Small in the next few days with some minor changes to ‘Big’, ’Choices’ and 'Suzie’.
Thanks for reading!
